Advances and balance

Advance payment invoices that show the balance due

Deposits, part-payments and staged work are normal for freelancers, contractors and agencies, yet most invoice tools only understand "paid" or "not paid". Turn on advance tracking in your Invooza rules and every invoice can record the advances you have received, each with its date. The PDF lists them under the total and shows the balance still owed, so the client sees exactly where things stand.

FAQ

Advance Payment Invoices: frequently asked questions

What is an advance payment invoice?

Can I record more than one advance?

Yes. An invoice can hold several advances, each with its own date, and all of them are printed on the PDF.

Can I add an advance after the invoice is created?

Yes. Edit the invoice, add the advance and regenerate the PDF.

Does this work for deposit invoices?

Yes. A deposit is recorded as an advance, and the invoice shows the remaining balance once it is applied.
